Guests familiar with Firmdale Hotels will recognise Kit Kemp’s colourful, iconic style when stepping inside the Haymarket Hotel. Contemporary art adorns the walls alongside handpicked ceramic pieces, patterned fabrics and bold colours. Bang in the middle of London’s West End – although excellent external sound-proofing means it’s easy to forget this – Haymarket Hotel is ideally placed for theatres and has the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square and The Mall all on its doorstep. While the Brumus restaurant and bar are buzzy and popular with non-residents too, guests can escape to the resident-only library or terrace, both with honesty bars (a feature of all the Firmdale properties). A swish, underground 18m swimming pool and glitzy poolside bar sets this hotel apart and children will love the fun inflatables. There’s also a state-of-the-art gym and treatment rooms.
