Located just outside of the bustling centre of Amsterdam, Hotel Arena offers a smart stay to guests looking for a quieter city getaway. The hotel is perched on the edge of Oosterpark, a verdant municipal park in the east of the capital. Guests can reach the city centre on a short tram ride, and the canal district is within walking distance. Rooms at the hotel follow the original layout of the 19th-century property and are split into three categories: classic, supreme and the suites. Interiors are a blend of clean, minimalist lines and vintage-style furniture. The hotel suites are the cream of the crop; individually designed, some suites offer split-level living space while others boast a huge bathroom with a freestanding bathtub. The Park Café-Restaurant serves as a fantastic all-purpose dining experience; with a focus on fresh, local produce, it is as much a great stop-off for a quick snack as a stylish dinner option. There is a sunny outdoor terrace which overlooks the park, perfect for a cocktail in the summer. A chic, stylish hotel.

A park-side hotel in a former orphanage, with a few original 19th-century features, now set into a tranquil, minimalist design. A glass-walled café-restaurant offers imaginative, healthy meals and a superb breakfast. Rooms are fairly spacious, and service comes with a genuine smile.
