“A luxury hotel occupying one of the finest spots along the river. Indulgent rooms keep some of the old brewery's original features but set alongside this are more luxurious touches of Egyptian cotton sheets and L’Occitane products. The restaurant is superb and the wine list (unsurprisingly) good.”

It’s a challenge to find a better-positioned hotel than this in Henley-on-Thames, especially if you’re enjoying a glass of fizz while soaking in an outdoor bathtub on your private balcony overlooking the river. Beds are large enough to sprawl and breakfast is one of the best in Oxfordshire.
