Quietly tucked down a side-street in the smart Seefeld district, yet just a five-minute walk from the Old Town, and a couple of minutes from the lakeshore, this hotel has an enviable location. Despite its coral-pink exterior, inside all is neat and calm, with a nautical theme going on: white and blue walls, pale-wood floors and black-and-white vintage photographs of yachts and lidos. Rooms follow the same breezy feel. No bedroom is especially large – not rooms to laze around in - but they’ve been cleverly designed to make the best use of space: the bathroom sliding-door doubles as a mirror, for example. The shower-only bathrooms are bright-white and well thought-through for their compact size. There’s no sitting-room – it’s more a pension than a hotel – but there’s a small courtyard for breakfast when the weather is warm. Breakfast is a typical but attractive Swiss choice including fresh fruit salad, home-made bircher muesli, and a selection of meats and cheeses. Unexpectedly, the breakfast area turns into a Japanese restaurant for lunch and dinner. If you enjoy swimming, note that the hotel offers free entrance to the city’s lidos.
