Hotel Review
At last a property has arrived to provide a luxurious place to rest ones head in this spectacular corner of Rajasthan that doesn't come at the eye watering prices of nearby Sujan's camp. It's a mystery that this area is somewhat unexplored. Craggy rocks, swathes of grassland, interlaced with stretches of desert, and an enormous lake all make for the perfect backdrop for an escape to nature. Beyond this the area is teaming with leopards which unlike their jungle brethren are relatively easy to spot as they laze on the rocky outcrops. The lake is inhabited by no less than 400 crocodiles, flamingoes stand gracefully in the shallows and sloth bears can be spotted if you get very lucky.
Despite being a new build the hotel itself blends perfectly into its surrounds. The twelve rooms are spacious beyond necessity and have been simply decorated with white hues, flamingo dotted curtains and sturdy teak furniture. A rain shower is a welcome addition and the terraces complete with rattan chairs are where one can while away hours.
Jeep safaris are included in the price and set out at dawn and dusk along with a local naturalist. On-site there's a fabulous infinity pool and bikes that can be used to explore the area. Evenings are spent sipping a tipple around a campfire before hearty meals of local cuisine are served in the restaurant. A nature lovers paradise.
