Hotel Review
Standing stark and picturesque against the rolling green vineyards of Duras is Le Vallon de Guerry, a renovated farmhouse decorated in an effortlessly cool style. Melding folksy charm with a minimalist regard for the overall decor, the rooms have exposed stone walls and dark wooden panelling soaring against the ceiling, alongside bright, uniquely coloured walls and parquet flooring. The views of the surrounding pastures are sublime, be it in winter, when the dew gently gathers atop the grass, or in summer, when you can see the valleys stretch before your eyes for miles and miles. This is surely a place to lose yourself, a place where you can hear all of your anxieties melt away in the heat of the soft summer sun. The Wellness Centre, a fairly new addition, does just that: not only is there a heated outdoor pool, but there's a hot tub, sauna and a whole range of massages on offer at an additional cost. There's plenty for the kids to do too: along with board games, in the spacious garden there is children's play equipment.
