“A stunning manor house hotel with fabulous restaurants. Bedrooms and suites are lavish, but understated. Rich fabrics, kilims, antique furniture and four poster beds. Splendid grounds and swimming pool. Delicious, romantic, picturesque. ”

Writer Henry Miller overstayed his welcome here by a month and you can see why. The former tobacco drying barn now a restaurant serves gourmet cuisine. 14 rooms and 9 suites are romantically rustic, but luxuriously styled. The swimming pool sits centrally in the garden, excellently planned out in beautifully tamed areas.
