“A fantastic choice for honeymooners or families. Rustic cottages surrounded by nature and sunny shores with beautiful views. Rambling gardens, wildlife, beaches, and biking. Magical and understated.”

Hotel review

If you want total privacy, peace and quiet – an escape from the world - you will find it here at Levendis. This historic family property set in magical grounds with enchanting coastal views, consists of only 4 two-bedroom secluded guest cottages with private gardens. The cottages are deliberately rustic in keeping with the Ithacan laid back vibe, but nothing has been overlooked; jelly shoes for stony beaches, umbrellas for the odd shower, lovely cotton swimming towels, sun hats to suit all, a wonderful library of novels and books about Ithaca, Odysseus and the Greek myths as well as the latest thrillers etc.. The simple kitchens are fully equipped and upon arrival your fridge will contain all you need for a full Greek breakfast (yoghurt, homemade super muesli, fresh eggs, bread, creamy milk and delicious coffee) home-made lemonade and a bottle of chilled local rose. Home to home.

Within the extensive grounds, the infinity swimming pool is stunning, designed to reflect ancient Greece with cypress trees and Doric columns. If you are looking for hotel-style amenities, slick restaurants and service this may not be your bag, but Levendis is seductive; a few days here and you won’t want to leave. The ‘Coffee Shop’ is the social hub of Levendis, where you will find Kate or another member of the family ready every morning to help plan and arrange your excursions, book nearby restaurants, cook up some chocolate waffles with your children and generally catch up on the local Ithacan news and chat. There is also a brilliantly put together folder of information in each cottage. A small car is provided within the price so take off and explore the pretty seaside towns, magical beaches and crystal clear waters. You truly get back to nature here. Guests return again and again and are treated like old friends. Spotless. Well maintained grounds and spectacular views. Prices include daily cleaning, use of a small car and shared BBQ area.
