Besides the traditional elegance, luxury and top-notch service associated with hotels in this group, the Munich Mandarin has a knock-out location, minutes away from the major museums, galleries, shops and restaurants, the Opera House and celebrated Hofbräuhaus beer garden. Attention to detail lies at the heart of its success, from the immaculate decoration, superbly refurbished in 2007, to the bright, young, well-trained staff. The 73 bedrooms and suites are all large and deeply comfortable, with glossy cherry wood Biedermeier-style furniture and Oriental fabrics that hint at the hotel’s Asian roots. Fabulous views over the red-roofed city are shared by some rooms and the splendid rooftop pool. A five-star hotel in every way.
