Lindos is one of the most beautiful places in Greece – so beautiful, in fact, that it is in danger of becoming the victim of its own popularity. Happily, the Melenos Lindos Hotel stands aloof from the over-commercialisation. Staying in one of its 12 lush suites with white gauzy drapes and antique objets d’art on the walls (each of which has its own terrace), and dining beneath the pavilions of the open-air restaurant, you feel very much at home in your own luxury cocoon.
