Hotel review

Travellers seeking a swish and uber-modern stay in the buzzy centre of Palma are sure to find it at the Nakar Hotel. Ticking all the boxes for a 21st-century urban bolthole, its super-soundproofed rooms are kitted out with the latest tech – 40-inch plus smart TVs, individual Wi-Fi hubs, and multiple USB ports come as standard. In-room comforts also include waffle robes, espresso machines, and 300-count Egyptian cotton sheets for a touch of luxury. Dining is similarly swanky, with an ambitious menu focused on Mallorcan produce, plus a restaurant space that opens out to an alfresco terrace in the warmer months. But it's the rooftop terrace that steals the show, with a narrow pool that provides some of the best views in town – out to the gothic cathedral and the sea beyond. Completing an impressive package, lifts also connect directly to a bijou spa underground, with sauna, steam bath, and another small pool.

Map & Location

See what they say

Why do people love staying in your hotel? Our main highlights are: location, design, concept and views. NAKAR Hotel is located in the main avenue of the city. We are in the commercial district and all the main sights are nearby. We are members of Design Hotel. The interior design was created by local designer Marga Rotger and features oak-wood floors, natural stone, and black lacquered iron to add a dash of elegance. However, it is not only about the interior design, it is also about our whole concept, the people, the atmosphere, the music and the style. On the top floor of the Hotel there is a terrace with wonderful views of Palma and the bay. This terrace is exclusive for our guests during the main hours of sun. In high season we open a bar in the evenings where local people mix with our guests to enjoy the sunset and the splendid views. What is there to do in the area? The good location of the Hotel, permit our guests to explore the city very easily. Best shops and restaurants are less than 5 minutes walk away. Palma’s Cathedral is one of the musts in Palma and is only 700m from the Hotel. Es Baluard Museum is 400m from the Hotel. We have also created a unique ‘Palma Guide’, which includes all the things to do and places to visit. What kind of breakfast do you offer? What makes our breakfast unique and special is that is served in the 8th floor of the Hotel, with great views and a lot of natural light. Continental buffet combined with a selection of different local products. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? On the 8th floor of the Hotel is our CUIT Restaurant, where we work with the famous Mallorcan chef Miquel Calent. Miquel’s cuisine style is based on old Mallorcan recipes, with a contemporary twist and using local and seasonal products. Which are your most popular room types, and why? Our ‘Deluxe rooms with patio and jacuzzi’ are large and in high demand as are all the rooms that face the street. What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms? At NAKAR we don’t have extra beds in the rooms. Only in our Suites we have a sofa bed where we allocate 1 children up to 12 years old. For families we offer connecting rooms. This configuration is very popular because it offers 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms in the same space. What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? Palma is a great city that combines sea, sun, culture, gastronomy and a very professional service everywhere. People visiting our city have the option to explore all the island in combination with urban style holidays. All Mallorca is very easy to drive and in 1 hour you can reach the other side of the island. The combination of city, beach and mountains makes Palma the perfect spot for a complete vacation.
