Trikala is the biggest village on the west side of Mount Ziria and has been a mountain holiday bolt-hole for centuries. It's easy to see why; 1000m above sea level, the views from this idyllic hamlet are breathtaking. In summer there are verdant forests and in the winter, snow-capped peaks. Pleiadon Gi has made a considerable effort to harmonize with this natural landscape; the resort has been built in line with local architectural style and using stone found on the mountainside where the hotel is located. The resort also has an eco-friendly program to offset waste produced and energy use. The suites occupy independent buildings with separate entrances, which gives a sense of added privacy. They are all spacious, with separate living and sleeping space and verandahs overlooking the mountain range; the most luxurious suites have a private hot tub and hammam. The on-site spa offers a range of treatments for those who are interested in more focused relaxation. With a cosy hotel bar and modern Greek restaurant also housed within the resort, there's little reason to leave this pretty hideaway spot for the first few days of your stay.
