Plockton Inn

While the Isle of Skye is the big draw for so many travellers, Plockton is the ideal crowd-free alternative nearby, complete with rumpled hills, pine islands and seal-topped skerries. And this calm anchorage on sheltered Loch Carron knows exactly how to seduce in every season, particularly in summer, when the seafront cabbage palms make it almost tropical.
