Hotel Review
The smart bedrooms at this ancient inn have slate bathrooms and natural sisal flooring. The décor is chocolate and cream throughout, with each room distinguished by vivid splashes of colour to match its name: Pear has green artwork, cushions and throws and a funky washbasin in brilliant emerald glass. The other rooms (Aubergine, Plum, Gooseberry, Cherry etc) follow suit. You’re on a main road, but that’s coaching inns for you. For dinner, try the venison culled in season from the nearby Wyre Forest – the chef butchers the carcases himself.
