Hotel Review
Proof that you get what you pay for. The price may seem high but the service and the experience is second to none. Flower strewn foot-baths await you upon return from your safari, atmospheric storm lanterns sit flickering outside your villa after dinner. Twelve villas are spread widely across the property's 22 acres of scrub. Decor is modern colonial: think African safari with an Indian twist. Villas feature separate sitting rooms with beautifully upholstered armchairs and dark wood writing desks, beautiful black and white photography a selection of books and a fireplace. They lead on to large private terraces with sun loungers - a wonderful place to enjoy a private lunch. Bedrooms feature four poster beds and eye catching artwork and murals but the real showstoppers are the outdoor bathrooms which boast cavernous baths and rainfall showers. All villas are virtually identical and each as perfect as the next. Dining at Samode is an experience within itself. Whilst it is tempting to gorge on the selection of fresh pastries, fruits, eggs and curries over breakfast, remain disciplined as their is still a four course lunch to look forward to, afternoon tea plus dinner which is an even more elaborate affair. Sip cocktails around the campfire with other guests before being guided to whichever idyllic setting dinner is taking place in that evening - staff love to keep you guessing. What's more? All this is included in the price. Meals, most drinks, safari drives and many other extras. You will want for nothing here.
