“Dating back to the 1920's this small yet perfectly formed five bedroom property is located on the grounds of a former rubber tree estate. Decorated in a colonial style, creating a resplendent feel, rooms are large and bright. South Indian dishes are cooked with homegrown vegetables and fresh fish. ”

Hotel Review
Another idyllic offering from 'Malabar Escapes' who, in our book, can do little wrong. Two hours from Cochin and en route to Periyar Wildlife Reserve it is a perfect place to break up an otherwise long journey. So much more than just a stopover, Serenity's team of friendly and attentive staff, plus Laxmi, the resident elephant, make any stay here an unforgettable one. Remaining true to its colonial roots furnishings are of the period and the entire property is awash with ornaments and artworks that the owner has collected over the years. Wood panelled throughout, rooms are expansive and feature antique four posters taking pride of place. With just five of them it can be hired as a villa and would be ideal for a large group of friends or family travelling together. Food is simple, traditional yet delicious and all of the vegetables come from the well maintained kitchen garden. Guests can even try their hand in the kitchen with a private tutorial from the chef. A wonderfully intimate and personable stay.
