“A luxurious hotel with impeccable service, striking zen design that honours Korean heritage, and a prime location perfect for exploring the vibrant city of Seoul. An excellent choice for discerning travellers seeking an unforgettable stay in Korea”

Hotel review

Thoughtful interior design beautifully marries modern luxury with traditional Korean aesthetics at this Far Eastern outpost of the Four Seasons chain. The superb collection of Korean Moon Jars and elegant ceramics which accent the main spaces is notable; these design elements not only create a serene, sophisticated and almost ‘zen-like’ environment but also provide a sense of place, allowing guests to experience Korean culture in a refined setting. This attention to detail is carried into the rooms which are elegant and spacious, fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows and modern furnishings. The ‘Seoul-ful’ tea blends — included in every room and made from artisanal Korean tea leaves — are a lovely touch and typical of the Four Seasons’ focus on guest comfort and local enjoyment.

The hotel is superbly equipped for business travellers but its location is ideal for tourists, being situated in the heart of Seoul’s bustling Jongno district. Guests have convenient access to some of the city’s most iconic attractions, including Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, and the vibrant Insadong shopping district. And one of Seoul’s highlights is the nearby Cheonggyecheon, a natural stream, which winds its way peacefully through the centre of the city, complete with carp fish and herons. Picture perfect!

The central location also makes it easy to explore Korea’s dynamic culinary scene, with numerous top-rated restaurants and street foodstalls within walking distance. For those not wanting to venture too far afield there is a wide range of dining options in-house, from the alfresco Garden Terrace on the 15th floor to the trendy OUL restaurant that combines a traditional menu with a contemporary twist. The Charles H is a speakeasy cocktail bar, discreetly hidden in the lower levels of the hotel and has consistently ranked in ‘The World's 50 Best Bars’. More health-conscious guests can sip on a homemade smoothie from The Juice Bar whilst using the fully equipped gym, indoor pool, spa and Korean sauna.

The Four Seasons Seoul is the height of sophistication and the hotel's commitment to superior service is clearly evident, the staff are attentive, courteous, and incredibly professional. One expects the best at any Four Seasons and this chic city-centre oasis certainly delivers. An unrivalled spot from which to explore the magic and mysteries of Seoul.
