Hotel Review

Sleek smart gastro pub in this sleepy village, in what was a small village pub. Upstairs four bedrooms with a modern comfortable style painted in Farrow and Ball greys and greens – good beds and mattresses, excellent towels, quality bathrooms, furry throws. Service is willing and able and the staff are clearly highly motivated to make this a success. OK wine list, good chef (a memorable risotto). The Fuzzy Duck has a large and welcoming garden attached with comfy outdoor sofas as well as pub tables and outdoor dining is offered when warm enough. The rooms are not large, but are restful although at times there can be a gentle buzz from the pub below. The road outside is surprisingly busy, though the village itself is charming. In sum, ideal for a short stay to visit, walk, or en route to somewhere else.
