“An award-winning traditional Cotswold pub beside the green in the beautiful village of Kingham. Spacious yet cosy rooms in soft colours with plenty of fascinating books and contemporary comforts. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and a daily changing excellent menu.”

Hotel review

The Pretty Cotswold village of Kingham has truly lucked out. Matt and Kate Beamish, who have recently taken over the Kingham Plough are determined to keep to the authenticity of the traditional country pub with the added bonus of six comfortable and cosy rooms. All the rooms have an individual country-chic style, decorated in soft colours with deliciously comfy beds and dreamy pillows. En-suites are wonderfully spacious with walk-in showers, large baths, all stocked with delightfully scented soaps and conditioners from Bramley – a local Cotswold company. Tea, filter coffee, homemade nibbles and a delivery of fresh milk to your door is all you need for that early morning brew.

The central hub is of course the bar, where locals gather to enjoy a pint of ale or a carefully crafted cocktail, catch up on the latest news, or relax in fireside sofas. The dining room is skilfully divided by an elegant oak panelled screen, a richly coloured more intimate area contrasts with a lovely high beamed room where the walls are tastefully decorated with large botanical prints against a soft sage green background. The staff do their utmost to make you feel at home, chatty, knowledgeable, and proud of the menu and carefully crafted wine-list. The recent winners of a National Good Food Award for Gastro Pubs 2020 comes as no surprise with new Head Chef Johnny Pons at the helm. His daily changing menu is full of creative British favourites, all utterly delicious. With Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, and the renowned Daylesford Farm Shop just a mile away, you’ll have no problem working up a thirst!
