Situated in a stunning historic house near Trevose Golf Course, Constantine and Booby's Bay and just 10 minutes from Padstow by car, The Pig at Harlyn Bay is the Cornish outpost of the ever-popular Pig Group. With parts of the building dating back to the 15th century, you'll find plenty of quirky and characterful interiors which embrace this history rather than try to brush it out. Rooms are spread around the main house and Stonehouse (a part new traditional courtyard building), plus there are four Garden Wagons which are perfect for a romantic getaway. All promise views whether over the gardens, courtyard or across the headland and out to sea. They are uniquely decorated and come in a variety of sizes from "extremely small" to "extra comfy luxe". Some boast monsoon showers, others offer four poster beds and freestanding baths; but all are beautifully finished in the usual Pig shabby-chic style. Dining is a treat here and as well as the main restaurant (where all dishes are produced from ingredients either grown on site or from within a 25 mile radius) there's the cool Lobster Shed which offers outdoor meals championing the freshest local seafood. For those wanting to unwind and relax The Potting Shed will do the trick: hidden away beyond the kitchen garden, it provides a wide range of treatments using products made from only natural and organic ingredients. You might say this is all pretty standard for a top quality hotel, but where the Pig at Harlyn Bay stands out is the staff; they are young, enthusiastic, fun, professional, observant, team players and really seem to go the extra mile. A fabulous addition to the Padstow hotel scene!
