Hotel Review

“More is more” seems to be the motto at The Reverie Saigon, a new addition to Ho Chi Minh’s luxury hotel scene that’s made waves since its opening in September 2015. From the moment one enters the lobby, a purple ostrich skin and gilded sofa set set grandly in one corner, it’s clear this is a hotel that takes opulence seriously. Rooms and suites start on the 27th floor, each one offering panoramic views across the city from their floor-to-ceiling windows. And in each room, the hotel owner’s obsession with design is apparent, with some of the pricier suites kitted out solely in pieces by selected Italian furniture designers. Even the entry-level rooms are large and grandly furnished, each one boasting Frette luxury bed linens, lashings of marble and a desirable selection of toiletries from European beauty brands. The facilities at The Reverie Saigon are equally imposing - a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre provide respite from the city’s bustling streets while a VIP-only bar on the 38th floor is stocked with complimentary champagne, spirits and snacks. The dining options reflect the international clientele, with Cantonese, Italian and French fine dining restaurants to choose from, as well as a more casual cafe and bar on the ground floor. Recommended for business people, romantic weekends and keen sightseers.
