“This classic and comfortable hotel is all about location with terrific sea and mountain views. Hourly shuttles mean it’s also well placed for the beaches at Camps Bay and the V&A Waterfront.”

Hotel review

With amazing views from the hotel and its grounds, there’s nothing but a road between this luxury hotel and the ocean. The coastal location influences the hotel’s décor with a colonial twist. The bedrooms are all different, and it’s worth opting for one with a sea or mountain view. The spa offers a range of tempting treatments, plus plunge pools and a floatation tank, while in the grounds there are two swimming pools: the heated Atlantic pool and a cold – but picturesque – rock pool. Hiking trails from the hotel lead into the mountains and the kitchen will happily provide picnics to be enjoyed en route. On return, sample a sundowner on the Leopard Bar’s balcony followed by dinner in the Azure restaurant with its à la carte and tasting menus. Alternatively, the Café Grill offers more casual dining around the clock.

The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa

'Dwarfed as much by the mountain range after which it’s named as the blue ocean below it, the 12A hotel offers a dramatic seaside location, five-star service, a world-class restaurant and, in winter, unbelievable value for money – small wonder this member of Leading Hotels of the World is always busy.'
