“If you're after a truly relaxing family stay, this is the place. Located on a deserted beach, with excellent snorkelling and diving opportunities. Stay in luxurious cottage accommodation; some family suites include private pools. Flavoursome Western and African dishes are served. Superb.”

Thonga Beach Lodge

Options don’t get much better if you yearn to be a recluse for a week but also have a family in tow. Snorkel with clownish-coloured parrot fish, sunbathe on the silent private beach, scour the adjoining forest for scorpions, and feast on seafood spiced South African style in the open-air restaurant.
