Hotel Review
Vil Uyana is a luxurious treat to be enjoyed at the end of a road trip or after long days of sightseeing. Allow at least two days as there is much to enjoy. The treehouses and the guesthouse on stilts with huge rooms and large windows and decks overlooking the water allow excellent birdwatching: eat breakfast watching sea eagles and Brahminy kites at close range (though quite a lot of London pigeons seem to have moved in too). A peaceful library sits over the water and there is a large infinity pool at marsh level. Opt for the Sri Lankan menu rather than Western food.
