“Set in downtown Chengdu, this hotel is a landmark luxury bolt-hole. The grand lobby feels like a contemporary art installation while upstairs, chic guestrooms feature intricate latticework detail, floor-to-ceiling windows and contrasting textures. Dine at the rooftop restaurant; a refined city stay.”

Hotel review

Chengdu, one of the fastest-growing cities in China's Sichuan province, offers visitors a melting-pot of local culture, natural beauty and modern luxury. Chengdu's Ritz-Carlton was one of the first five-star hotels in the region and remains a cut above when it comes to attentive service and top-of-the-range facilities. The hotel is perched on the site of a former heritage palace and boasts an unrivalled location overlooking Tianfu Square. Guests enter through the hotel's magnificent lobby, where a giant, intricate latticework design piece hangs behind the reception desk. Upstairs, guestrooms boast spectacular views across the city from floor-to-ceiling windows. All the rooms are spacious and modern, with contrasting textures key to the interior design; think: leather against wood, luxury upholstery against glass. Amenities are, unsurprisingly, very exclusive; suites boast 800-thread count linens and a TOTO smart toilet. All guestrooms benefit from high-speed internet and in-room music facilities, plus ample space for children. Families are welcomed here, and specific amenities for those travelling with younger children are available upon request, from cots to babysitting services; book the Ritz Kids Night Safari Package for an in-room adventure tent set-up which kids love. There are a range of award-winning restaurants and bars at the hotel to choose from; Chengdu is a UNESCO World Heritage culinary site and the hotel showcases the best of local food traditions. The Li Xuan Chinese restaurant sets the bar for contemporary Canto-Sichuan cuisine, while Flair offers dinner with a view on the roof terrace, Asian-style tapas restaurant. Unwind after dinner with a green tea spa treatment at the exclusive Ritz-Carlton Spa. The hoteliers have left no stone unturned here to provide the ultimate luxury experience.
