St Pauli is best known as Hamburg's Red Light District, but the neighbourhood has so much more to offer than sleaze! You'll find buzzing bars, cabaret venues and night clubs, after all this is where The Beatles kicked off their career. Day-time draws include the Panoptikum Wax Museum, strolls along the Elbe River, and to the north of the district there's the gorgeous Planten un Blomen park, which feels a millions miles away from the bustling city centre. We've only uncovered one hotel in St Pauli that we think is worth recommending, but you can check out our picks in the Altstadt or Hafencity for further inspiration.
