- The Inn on Putney Road has been converted from a distinguished colonial mansion minutes from the centre of Brattleboro. It has just six rooms and suites, all charmingly decorated, well arranged and well lit, plus lovely common areas, an award-winning perennial garden, and elegant living spaces. There’s no restaurant, but there are a number of excellent picks within a pleasant stroll, and they offer an impressive three course breakfast.

- The Green Mountain Inn is an historic inn in the heart of Stowe, with rooms, suites, self-catering apartments and whole townhouses available for guests. With this many rooms and suites there’s plenty of variety when it comes to décor, but you can expect traditionally plush fabrics and furnishings, and luxurious features. As well as indoor charms, the Green Mountain Inn also has a leafy garden, and outdoor pool. And a ski shuttle for the winter season.

- Rabbit Hill Inn is a sumptuous B&B hideaway, perfect for a romantic weekend. There are no telephones or TVs — the charming olde worlde decor helps set the scene for that, here it’s all about being in the present, whether that’s skiing or walking, dining in the relaxed, but award-winning restaurant, or taking afternoon tea on the veranda.
- Lilac Inn is a large and elegant mansion, turned nine room inn, surrounded by landscaped gardens complete with fountains and ornamental ponds. Inside there’s a certain level of ornamentation too, with patterned fabrics, interesting antiques, and a hope chest or two. The atmosphere is welcoming and cosy. The restaurant is run by a well-known chef, which gives it a bit of extra buzz.
- The Reluctant Panther Inn is a white clap-board inn surrounded by manicured gardens, close to Manchester Village. Inside the inn are 20 rooms and suites, decorated with classical antiques, and offering crackling fireplaces, wonderful rural views and huge, marble bathrooms. The restaurant serves American cuisine, paired to an award-winning wine list.

- The Red Clover Inn is an historic, 13 room lodge, dating from 1840, in the beautiful Green Mountains. It’s a short distance to the Killington Resort and Pico Mountains.
- The Lang House on Main Street, Burlington, is an historic mansion dating from 1881, converted into a luxurious 11 room B&B. Each of the rooms is uniquely decorated, featuring period antiques, four-poster beds, wooden floors covered with cosy rugs, country-style floral fabrics and homely details. When required the fireplaces in the common rooms blaze! A charming garden surrounds the property with outdoor seating for the warmer months.

- The Inn at Round Barn Farm is a 12 room B&B surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of acres of breath-taking mountain scenery. The décor is plushly comfortable, with country style furniture and floral fabrics, and the luxurious bathrooms have over-sized tubs and spectacular views. The location is perfect for skiing in the Mad River Valley, and close to four outstanding golf courses. No kids.
- The Woodstocker is an historic B&B conversion in historic Woodstock — which is just two and a half hours from Boston, four and a half hours from New York, and three hours from Montreal.
