About Ladispoli

The coastline running alongside Ladispoli was spotted as a beauty by the Etruscans, who no doubt enjoyed their own versions of a seaside holiday on its numerous lovely beaches — complete with soft sand, and a bright, calm sea. Contemporary visitors are treated to the same pleasures, and our Gurus recommend the best places to stay in Ladispoli to anyone considering a beach break near Rome. It's only twenty miles away, and an easy trip too if you’re looking to blend culture with sunshine and sea breezes. We don’t have a long list of excellent accommodation in Ladispoli, but we have tracked down a gorgeous, 17th century seaside hotel just out of town.

You don’t have to go all the way to Rome to experience culture or history, Ladispoli is close to several Etruscan ruins, including the necropolis of Monteroni and Vaccina. There are ruins from the Roman period too, a highlight being the Villa of Pompey, and the town itself has an impressive castle, which is now a sort of regional museum. The best places to stay in Ladispoli might not be an obvious choice if you’re really here for Rome itself, but using one of the local villas as a base will be a different way to see this area. And our Gurus recommend it especially as an option for families.

This town’s special mix of natural beauty, sunny nonchalance, and historic importance also make Ladispoli ideal for a romantic break. Especially that one gorgeous, 17th century seaside hotel… with a Michelin star and unforgettable service!
