Åre is Sweden’s most popular ski resort, beautifully positioned in a mountain valley by the shores of an alpine lake. Åre’s skiers take the scenic cable car up to the top of the mountain and then choose from a range of pistes coming down, all the way to the village square. it’s not quite that simple though, the ski region does have around 30 modern ski lifts. There’s also a snow park and a special ski area of children and families.
