The Best Hotels in Manly, Sydney

You can get to Manly on the ferry from Circular Quay, and it’s one of the nicest, and cheapest, boat trips on the harbour, past Taronga Zoo and just inside the heads - and you can feel the swell as you pass them. And once you get there you’re at the beach - a calm little yellow cove of a beach. But walk across the Corso and you’re on the ocean, and the oceanside beach is long and golden, lined by pine trees, cafes, bars and restaurants....And some of the best hotels to stay in Manly.

If the swell is up there’s a chance you’ll see some good surfing, or have the chance to have a go yourself, and there are also some lovely walks to be taken - or strolls, if that’s more your line. Apparently the suburb of Manly has 18 ocean beaches, coves and inlets, so there’s plenty to explore. And it’s got a great little aquarium!

Surrounded by bush, Manly’s Q Station has been converted from an old quarantine station and is a collection of private cottages and rooms and suites in a larger block. There’s a private beach, two restaurants and a shuttle to Sydney harbour. A great family pick.
