Flock to the Arundell Arms; there are so few places like it left. In the family for nearly 50 years and now run by Adam and Tina Fox-Edwards. It continues to offer extensive fishing on the Tamar, its tributaries and a beginners' lake, plus a warmly welcoming atmosphere, pretty, comfortable, up-to-date bedrooms and wonderfully fresh, locally sourced food in a beautiful dining room. A perfect West Country base for everyone, not just fishing and shooting parties.

Why do people love staying in your hotel? Old fashioned charm and service. A warm welcome from a family owned and run hotel. What is there to do in the area? The hotel offers fly fishing and a whole range of other country sports, including hunting, shooting and stalking. The Eden project is close by. Dartmoor is just a stone’s throw from the hotel. There are two market towns within close vicinity. A wealth of National Trust properties in the area. What kind of breakfast do you offer? Full cold buffet with a full hot menu including a traditional Full English. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We have three dining options at the hotel. One being in our very own country inn The Lifton Courthouse – offering a range of home cooked meals. We have the Hotel Bar which served its very own brasserie menu. And we have the award winning fine dining restaurant for a la carte and table d’hote dining. Which are your most popular room types, and why? Our large double rooms as they all have garden views and are spacious and very comfortable.
"Traditional comfort; a great institution, and the perfect place to learn to fish under the expert tuition of instructors Tim Smith and David Pilkington"
