“This restorative hilltop rural retreat is geared towards good value Ayruvedic (package) treatments. Basic lodgings put the emphasis on health and relaxation. Solo travellers and couples will enjoy the peace. Not for luxury lovers, ambience seekers or elderly with walking difficulties.”

Hotel review

For a change of scene, off the tourist trail, this small Ayruvedic centre attracts people searching for relaxation in a mountainous environment. Visitors tend to be those wanting a health boost or de-stress with daily Ayruvedic treatments under the supervision of a doctor alongside home-cooked local meals - all taken at set times in the communal dining area. Some guests stay for up to a month at a time. Simple wooden cabins with woven roofs are offset against the black rocky mountainside. Each hut has a clean, very basic shower room, pegs for clothing and a verandah. Walkers can enjoy clambering up to the Kali temple (in the process of being rebuilt after it was struck by lightning) where there's an awe-inspiring 360 degree view, including the Neyyar Dam (also visible from the resort) or trek to nearby waterfalls and wildlife sanctuary.
