Hotel review

There is no shortage of activities at the Coconut Palm Inn, and all are included in the resort fee: bicycles for exploring the island, kayaks for venturing out into the mangroves, paddle boards for observing the busy sea life from above, and even a fishing pier and poles for those who like to catch their dinner. For those arriving by boat, the hotel has its own marina located on the private beach for easy access. However, even those who aren't so actively inclined will have no need to worry as the west-facing beach is scattered with Adirondack chairs, hammocks and tikis, so that whole days can be spent sunning yourself with a book and taking the occasional dip in the bright blue waters of Florida Bay, alongside the occasional dolphin or manatee. The rooms are unfussy and serene with crisp bedding, cable television, flowers and a palette of saturated ocean-blues, bright sandy pastels and whites, and polished dark wood furnishings. There is no restaurant on-site but a complimentary breakfast of fruit, bagels and pastries is provided daily and there is an outdoor fire pit for guests who like to grill their own dinner under a starry sky. All rooms also come with microwaves and mini-fridges.
