Combining Cretan country living with lashings of comfort. This complex of carefully renovated stone houses, clustered around a large plunge pool and a small restaurant serving local specialties, is in Crete’s remote Lasithi region, and is ideal for lovers of peace and quiet. Flower-studded alleys dotted with Grecian urns lead to18 stone houses in varying sizes scattered over a hillside that is reached via a narrow winding road from the village of Sfaka. Decked out in vintage style fabrics, interiors have hand carved wooden beds, Nespresso coffee machines and terraces that offer glimpses of distant sea. There is also a charming little spa. Larger Vintage houses and Cressa suites with self-catering facilities are best for families. There are also several one room houses, with spacious terraces, that would suit couples.
