“A simple and charmingly rustic guesthouse perched in the High Atlas mountains above Imlil.”

Hotel review

Only an hour’s drive south of Marrakech, Dar Adrar sits up at 1800m in a little Berber village, in the midst of the Toubkal National Park. This small guesthouse offers everything you need for a short adventure in the High Atlas and at a very affordable price. Don’t expect frills; accommodation is simple, clean and basic. There are 5 en-suite rooms, two of them with their own log stove and 3 further rooms two with private facilities. Hot water does not always arrive on demand but the tagine more than makes up for it! A mule takes your luggage the last 10 minute walk up from Imlil and you arrive to a modest building with a similar feel to an Alpine chalet. Breakfast is plentiful and all meals are served communally in the large Berber style main room beside a blazing wood fire. If you don’t fancy a walk by day then you can relax on the lovely roof terrace with panoramic views down to Imlil and the Ait Mizane Valley. The helpful young owner Mohammed Aztat speaks good English and French and is a qualified Atlas Mountain Guide. He will arrange guided walks of the area and any equipment can be rented from his shop in Imlil.
