“A boutique hotel and atmospheric pub located in vibrant Farringdon. A handful of individually styled rooms are moody and chic with dark hues, free standing baths and large artworks. The restaurant serves up hearty gastro pub fare alongside a choice selection of ales. ”

Hotel review

This really is somewhere special to stay in London, blending a characterful, traditional Grade II-listed pub with Art Nouveau touches with six individually-designed elegant, contemporary boutique bedrooms and a suite above. The lovely bar, with its wooden panelling, low beams, romantic little alcoves and antique furniture, is straight out of a Dickens novel, albeit with rather more comfort. It serves delicious, hearty British pub classics. The guest rooms couldn’t be more different, boasting bold wallpapers, comfortable Hypnos beds, contemporary artworks and either calm and cosy or bright and colourful furnishings. The suite is even more luxurious, with a little terrace for al fresco drinks and a claw-footed freestanding copper roll-top bath. Ideally located within the heart of the city, it is however tucked down a side street and away from the bustle.

Fox & Anchor

Sitting above an 1898 Art Nouveau pub, the eponymous Fox & Anchor is a sumptuous boutique hotel offering dark, masculine interiors and excellent in-room facilities. As it's located across the road from the historic Smithfield Market, the high-quality pub food has a strong leaning to the carnivorous.
