“For a megadose of South of France-style glamour this granddame hotel, whose gourmet restaurants, glittering heated pools and bijou Diane Barrière spa gaze out over the celebrity-loved beaches of Cannes’ glitzy Croisette, is hard to beat. A VIP stay.”

Hotel review

Backed by the old town’s web of cobbled alleys, surrounded by a dizzy array of designer boutiques and fronting what is possibly one of the world most celebrated strips of sand, Hotel Barrière Le Majestic’s 257 spacious rooms and 92 super-size suites include the butler-serviced Christian Dior Suite, modelled on the designer’s Parisian home, and the vast Majestic Suite whose glittering rooftop pool has panoramic views over to Lérins Islands opposite. The perfect base for shopping stays and romantic getaways, this surprisingly unpretentious spa hotel also has plenty of child-friendly amenities, ranging from toddler-friendly heated pools to a designated Petit VIP kids club.

Reached via corridors lined with the photos of countless celebrities who’ve stayed here, the Majestic’s three gourmet restaurants include poolside Le Fouquet's Med-inspired specialities with legendary French chef Pierre Gagnaire at the helm and Bfire, where Mauro Colagreco, the man behind Michelin three-star Mirazur in Menton, celebrates his Argentinean roots plus Paradiso Nicole & Pierre for Italian specialities.

Map & Location

See what they say

Why do people love staying in your hotel? Le Majestic is one of the most iconic hotels in Cannes, it has a long and rich history, which a lot of our guests know about - as well as the history and reputation of the Barriere Group. Le Majestic is on the Croisette - the most famous street in the South of France, and is directly opposite the Palais des Festivals where the Cannes Film Festival takes place. So its location in the heart of Cannes alone provides a lot of value for tourists. In addition, the way our hospitality is manufactured makes each and every guest feel relaxed and welcome, like they are at home. Our staff are known for going the extra mile to make guests feel completely special and remembered each time they visit. We have a lot of regular guests who return for that reason.

What is there to do in the area? I was born and raised in Cannes and I always tell new guests that the first thing to discover is Cannes itself; the real Cannes - the old town with the markets and the church at the top. This is a must. We also have two neighboring islands called the Lérins Islands - the first one, Sainte-Marguerite, belongs to Cannes. It has a castle and the former Royal Fort as well as one very trendy restaurant called La Guérite. The second, St. Honorat Island is owned by monks. Tourists can visit their monastery and swim around the island - here the sea is very clear and beautiful. There is also an under the sea eco-museum located between the two islands, which is a unique experience. Cannes is located in the center of multiple sought-after destinations like Monaco, and St Tropez, which can all be explored with Cannes as the base. In the summer there is of course the sun, the beaches just across the street from the hotel, the boats and a variety of water sports too.

What kind of breakfast do you offer? Our hotel offers a buffet style hot and continental breakfast and also a separate a la carte menu where guests can order any breakfast items they wish.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? Our hotel is home to three restaurants including Le Fouquet’s Brasserie and bar, BFire by Mauro Colagreco, and Paradiso Nicole & Pierre. We also have Mademoiselle Gray, the private beach belonging to our 4-star hotel, the Hôtel Barrière Le Gray d'Albion Cannes. For dining options outside of the hotel it depends entirely on the cuisine, atmosphere and location the guests are looking for. There is a beautiful restaurant in the old town called Le Maschou, which is meat heavy with dishes cooked on a wood fire. My other recommendations include Table 22, Bobo Bistro, La Petite Maison, the Greek restaurant Anna, and Medusa, which is reopening next summer. There are also over 400 different restaurants all along the beaches, which are a great option during the summer months.

Which are your most popular room types, and why? Le Majestic has the most sea view rooms in Cannes and the most popular are the prestige rooms, each facing the sea, which are the highest category before the suites. The view from these rooms is very beautiful. After the prestige rooms, our eight exception suites are very popular and are incredible to see. They include the Majestic Suite with its own pool and the Christian Dior Suite, which was designed by the fashion house itself.

What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms? We can fit extra beds in our rooms for children when required. For children we also offer the Studio by Petit VIP experience, which is available each day within the hotel for children aged between 4-12 years old. Le Majestic has also recently released its own children’s book for its younger visitors, called Have You Seen Lulu?

The Petit VIP company and Le Majestic Hotel joined forces to create a unique concept for younger guests. Studio by Petit VIP offers a personalized welcome, 5-star facilities for children and numerous fun workshops. Children can choose from 10 major art activities which guarantee a whole host of fun and educational experiences including foreign languages and raising environmental awareness; an introduction to art, sculpture, photography and the art of entertaining — to etiquette, music, cartoons and cinema. Children and their parents also have the opportunity to make their own soundtrack or video clip, to dance, mime, do their make-up, sing, cook, study, learn a new skill or quite simply relax. There’s something for everyone!"

Have You Seen Lulu? is a children’s book for children aged 7 to 9 that aims to entertain Le Majestic Hotel's youngest visitors with a charming story set in the hotel. The narrative allows little readers to familiarize themselves with the key professions of hospitality and to discover Le Majestic from behind the scenes — from its kitchens to its aromatic gardens, the beach and the penthouse — all through beautiful color illustrations. Launched in early fall 2023, Have You Seen Lulu? is now available internationally on Amazon and in France via Amazon and in bookstores for €7.50.
