Hotel Review

Nestled amongst the green, rolling hills of The Peak District in Derbyshire, along a narrow country lane; Losehill House is a peaceful rural retreat and a perfect base for walkers wishing to explore the glorious surrounding countryside. Everything about the setting and hotel makes you feel a sense of calm; the fresh air, the sounds of the sheep, the pretty views from every window and the lovely spa with its outdoor sauna and hot tub overlooking the fields (there’s nowhere better to soothe tired muscles after a day on the Fells). The team are warm and helpful; happy to recommend an array of walks from the hotel (with an extensive collection of printed easy-to-follow maps and instructions for guests to follow). This efficient service extends to the light-filled restaurant too, where you can enjoy local, seasonal British cuisine while soaking up panoramic views of the National Park.

The modern décor is subtle and relaxed, rather than any stand-out details. And guest rooms are spotlessly clean, with neutral colours, comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms featuring free-standing bathtubs and rain showers. Losehill House will appeal to a range of guests: keen walkers, couples, families with older children and even small groups of friends looking for a spa break.
