A superb choice for a high quality, centrally-located Amsterdam hotel on a budget. Spread over two historic canal houses, rooms are quite compact but charming and comfortable, with pretty restful and neutral decor, and lovely views. There are some nice design touches such as exposed brick walls and 60s and 70s retro furniture, as well as displays of such things as a vintage typewriter, radio and tv and antique suitcases. It is situated right on the Bloemgracht, one of the quieter, nicest canals in the hip Jordaan neighbourhood, near some main sights. There’s no restaurant or bar but generous breakfasts with limitless coffee are provided, and plenty of restaurants and bars are nearby. The staff are young, friendly and enthusiastic

The atmosphere is hip, with a quirky individual charm; rooms are modestly-sized but comfortable, and some have fine canal views.
