“This unique hotel occupies a former 12th-century Cistercian monastery in Braga. Having undergone a full renovation, the hotel now offers contemporary guestrooms with part-exposed stone details, recalling the property's heritage. Dine in the original cloisters at the hotel restaurant.”

Pousada Mosteiro de Amares

The 'wow' factor starts as you pull up outside the pousada; a formidable ancient monastery adjoining an impressive church. Inside, things only get better with a splendid cloister (covered walkway) and magnificent dining hall. The fact that the rooms are simple barely detracts from the appeal.
