Beautifully restored by architect George and his wife Tassie, the Quinta da Colina now offers a great mix of either bed and breakfast accommodation in the main house, or self catering in a separate cottage, house and apartment. A former Algarvian manor, the Quinta is set amid six hectares of beautiful olive, carob and orange trees which guests are encouraged to explore. The old irrigation tank has been recycled into a stunning "rustic chic" pool, with the water wheel and original well now attractive features on the surrounding terrace. Rooms are cool and contemporary; decorated with clean white walls, high beamed ceilings all offset with splashes of bright colour on the soft furnishings. A great spot for relaxing and enjoying the pleasures of the real Algarve.

Why do people love staying in your hotel? Quinta da Colina is a very special place where guests can really relax away from the stress of everyday life. The Quinta & its estate is lovely & architecturally much admired & photographed with its interesting mix of old buildings with contemporary interiors What is there to do in the area or on site? Our country location in fertile valleys of orange groves & ancient olive trees is however only a 6 min drive from the pretty historic town of Tavira, rich in cultural & vibrant community life. Naturally the wonderful clean beaches are also only a 6 min drive as are a variety of activity sports - golf - sailing - walking - cycling etc. What kind of breakfast do you offer? Tassie's breakfasts are quite simply fantastic - a delicious combination of freshly squeezed orange juice, cereals, local hams & cheeses, a selection of breads & croissants & a huge platter of fresh fruit with, of course, a choice of fresh coffee or a selection of specialist teas - Perfection! Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We can, by special request prepare meals, but we prefer to suggest that our guests discover the variety & quality of local restaurants in Tavira or simply enjoy the ultra freshly caught fish grilled at a rustic beach hut washed down with a glass (or two) of local white or pink wine! Which are your most popular room types, and why? We offer guests a choice of B & B rooms & studio apartments incl breakfast which, in addition to their contempary design, have according to our guests book comments "the most comfortable beds in the world". Families & larger groups often prefer the freedom & flexibility of our self catering cottages. What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? We would love Hotel Guru readers to visit Quinta da Colina & Tavira to enjoy the true culture, wine & food as well as the wonderful beaches & sunshine of the real Algarve & much more!
