Offering the wow factor in this provincial town. Glossed black walls, sleek shiny surfaces, statement pieces dominated by a lifesize brass centaur, dramatic 10m ceilings throughout and hip tunes seduce. A vast award-winning spa, dressed in masculine slate and black, showcases the A-Z in heat and ice. Bedrooms are crisp, with mattresses worth writing about and stone bathrooms. Although the golf course and clubhouse have stolen the best views, the third-floor rooms are worth chasing for their balconies. The cream? A perfect unspoilt sandy beach in the grounds.
