“An elegant five-star resort with two championship golf courses and a standout spa. Luxurious suites & villas are decorated in terracotta hues with large living areas and terraces. There are several heated pools, tennis courts, a kids club, and four restaurants (one Michelin-starred). Exceptional.”

Hotel review

Immersed in a lush nature wonderland, the setting of Terre Blanche certainly has the wow factor; offering a luxury escape in the Provence countryside. Previously managed by Four Seasons, this now independently owned resort retains the same standard of service and elegance, but has added its own style too, including modern art sculptures dotted around the grounds.

The 115 all-suite and villa accommodation is set out in the style of a pretty Provençal village amongst cypress trees, aromatic flowers and plants. Rooms are spacious and excellent for families, with features like comfortable big sofa beds in a separate lounge area, a dressing area, large marble bathrooms and private terraces with loungers (the perfect spot for a glass of rosé).

Other family-friendly features include soft toys gifted to children on arrival, a kids’ club, kids’ outdoor pool, playground and even a buffet restaurant ‘Le Pitchoun’ just for little ones during the high season.

There’s a lot to entertain older guests too. The resort understandably attracts a lot of golfers with its two championship courses (helping to make the resort the size of Monaco – don’t worry, there are golf buggies on hand to whizz guests around!), but you don’t need to touch a golf club to enjoy a stay here. Instead soak up the sun by the resort’s gorgeous outdoor infinity pool or de-stress at the award-winning spa, with its breathtaking indoor pool lined by grand white pillars and floor to ceiling windows offering majestic views of the surrounding forest. The spa has excellent facilities, including a small outdoor vitality pool, sauna and steam room and a wide selection of treatments, including a recommended soothing massage using honey from Provence. Guests can also get moving in its state-of-the-art fitness gym or during one of the fitness classes available.

Foodies will love the resort’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Faventia, where Chef Christophe Schmitt showcases cuisine from the region and don’t miss the mouthwatering croissants at the breakfast buffet.

It’s easy to never leave the resort but rustic villages and glamourous Riviera towns are within easy reach. The concierge can also help to organise local experiences such as winery visits or the chance to learn how to create your own fragrance with a professional perfumer.

The service at Terre Blanche deserves a special mention - always efficient and warm – as well as the admirable eco credentials of the resort, which has gone above and beyond to protect the natural environment and biodiversity there for the past two decades.

Terre Blanche

Set in wine and walking country, this swish hotel, spa and golf resort is popular with the Monaco set. Surprisingly, Terre Blanche also suits families, drawn by the sprawling grounds and smooth service in a sleepy part of Provence. From city-slickers to cool kids, it’s a clever trick to pull off...
