Hotel Review
Contemporary Asian style is the theme throughout the twelve adult-only villas with private butlers at The Amala, another stunning hotel from Lifestyle Retreats. The design throughout this lovely boutique hotel is clean and simple. Local materials such as Bandung marble have been used wherever possible. All villas have en-suite bathrooms with a Jacuzzi and bath, some villas have baths by the pool, while others have large freestanding baths. Spa villas have a private plunge jet pool and the bedrooms open out onto private decking, all have large four-posters adorned in light white drapes and have steam showers scented with a selection of aromatherapy options so you can wind-down with calming lavender before bed or choose mint as a refreshing start to the day. The luxurious soaps with a mixture of tropical ingredients are a lovely little extra. The complimentary soft drink mini-bar fresh fruit and homemade cookies are replenished on a daily basis.
The small, but perfectly formed spa has a wide selection of therapies available and throughout the year. The choice of treatments include traditional Balinese Massage, Jade Stone Body Massage, Purification Massage and Tui Na (Chinese Acupressure Massage). The Amala also has a detailed cultural programme which includes visits to art galleries, temples and the best of shopping areas.
A nod to the wellbeing philosophy of the hotel the Bamboo restaurant has a healthy menu showcasing organic and raw ingredients whenever possible. The menu features dishes from Indonesia, Asia and and a few international dishes. Alcoholic drinks are available.
If you're craving some nightlife or a day by the sea, the cafés, restaurants, sandy beaches and shops of Seminyak are just a short walk from The Amala.
