Sat in a prime location on 5th Avenue (shopping's on the doorstep, plus there's Central Park and museums aplenty), The Peninsula is a five star haven which delivers everything you'd expect from a hotel bearing this name. It's an historic Beaux Arts style building which opened as the Gotham Hotel in 1905, and still features marble floors, towering high ceilings and stunning art on the walls (which is changed on a regular basis). The interior style is chic and understated (allowing the grand original features to take centre stage), so you can expect classic and traditional furnishings alongside muted colour schemes in the rooms and suites which come with extremely comfortable beds and spacious marble bathrooms (all of which come with a bath). For dining, Clements Restaurant offers contemporary American fare, and it does a seriously good breakfast with everything you could possibly want from pancakes, waffles, bacon and egg to smashed avocado and an array of juices (not just orange but also vegetable with beet, apple celery, spinach, kale etc., if you're looking for a detox/healthy vibe). Salon de Ning is the hip rooftop terrace and bar that's a hit with hotel guests and locals alike. It's definitely worth a visit, not just for the cocktails — the views are pretty good too! For those who like their five star stay to come with appropriate pampering, this hotel has it covered too. The Peninsula Spa offers an extensive range of innovative treatments for both men and women, an aromatherapy steam room, sauna and ice fountain experience; plus there's a large indoor pool surrounded by plenty of loungers. But the main point about staying here, which sets it apart from other five star luxury wannabees is its exemplary service. It is efficient to a fault and staff are genuinely friendly and very knowledgeable; they even have a Peninsula Academy which offers bespoke guided tours allowing you to really get under the skin of the Big Apple. If you're looking for a high-end luxury stay in one of the best parts of town, it's difficult to argue against The Peninsula!

The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum - The Noguchi Museum, chartered as The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum, is a museum and sculpture garden in the Long Island City section of Queens, New York City, designed and created by the Japanese-American sculptor Isamu Noguchi. Opened to the public in 1985, the museum and foundation were intended to preserve and display Noguchi's sculptures, architectural models, stage designs, drawings, and furniture designs. The two-story, 24,000 square feet museum and sculpture garden, one block from the Socrates Sculpture Park, stays open year-round.

What kind of breakfast do you offer?

Clement, our signature restaurant, offers American fare with flair, so there are a lot of classics on the menu, that have been given an indulgent twist. Our new, Naturally Peninsula menu items are all plant-based, super-nutritious and healthy options including Warm Jumbo Asparagus with Truffle, Sfoglini Pasta Hemp Rigatoni and Amaranth Flour Banana Cake.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? In the hotel contemporary American breakfast and lunch at Clement Restaurant and a creative bar menu and crafted cocktails at our rooftop bar and terrace, Salon de Ning.

Outside the hotel

Crown Shy. This neighborhood, seasonal restaurant is rooted in European fine dining technique but draws inspiration from around the world, primarily the flavors from our childhoods, traveling, and the diverse cuisine in New York City. From the house bread infused with olive tapenade to the banana ice cream infused with caramel, there’s not a single miss on the menu. Each bite makes you more excited to recommend this place to everyone you know.

Le Pavilion. A culinary oasis in the heart of Midtown, Le Pavilion builds on renowned Chef Daniel Boulud roots in New York City with a fresh and unique approach to fine dining in an extraordinary setting. With a focus on seasonality and locally sourced ingredients from both the land and the sea, Le Pavillon boasts an innovative menu showcasing vegetable-forward and seafood-centric cuisine.

Russ & Daughters. Choose between the original century-old family-run shop in the Lower East Side and the stylish, airy sit-down cafe iteration, two blocks south on Orchard. Whichever way you sway, expect to queue for its famed bagels and lox, and traditional kosher comfort food like potato latkes.

Which are your most popular room types, and why? The Grand Luxe Room is the largest in our ‘room’ category at over 45 square meters. As with all our rooms, they have a very residential feeling and their oversized windows which offer splendid city views of Fifth Avenue or 55th Street.

For more space, our Deluxe Suites feature a lavish marble bathroom with double wash basins and a guest powder room. These one-bedroom corner suites offer a decorative fireplace, dining table and luxurious furnishings creating the grandeur and intimacy of a New York apartment.
