“Set on a private island, the historic Waterford Castle is an atmospheric spot for a weekend away. Awash with heritage and charm, it offers luxurious rooms, an excellent restaurant and an onsite golf-course. The modern, self-catered lodges are perfect for families or groups.”

Hotel review

As you approach the imposing battlements and towers of the Norman castle, the hotel's eight hundred year history is plain for all to see. Venturing inside offers a further snapshot into a more recent past with it's period decor and marvellous central staircase. Upstairs, the rooms combine modern comfort with traditional charm, characterised by the plush antique furnishings. A highlight are the characterful bathrooms with decorative tiling and deep bathtubs. For groups or families looking for a little more privacy, the hotel offers smart, contemporary lodges with a kitchen, a living room and up to four bedrooms. Set on it's own private island, the hotel offers a range of activities including an 18-hole golf course, an archery range and a tennis court. In the evening, enjoy delicious modern cuisine in the enchanting setting of the Munster Room Restaurant. By the time you take the ferry back to the mainland, Waterford Castle will have won you over.
