About Les Deux Alpes
Les Deux Alpes, a fusion of two tiny hamlets in the Hautes-Alpes, is a fantastic destination for fun-loving adventurers. Popular in both the winter and summer months, this friendly spot welcomes guests of all ages, swapping the glamour of France’s more classic resort towns for a simpler, more modern feel when it comes to hotels and lively après-ski options alike. The best places to stay in Les Deux Alpes include family and group-friendly hotels as well as romantic chalets, perfect for a mountain holiday to remember.
Most winter travellers are drawn to the region for its 130kms of snow-clad slopes — accessed by 55 lifts — and for the large snowboarding park. The Musée Maison de la Montagne details the area’s history, whilst the ice cave boasts terrific creative carvings. Thrill-seekers will adore hiking, mountain biking, glacier skiing and rafting in the Écrins National Park and surrounding mountains during the summer months.
Return to the best places to stay in Les Deux Alpes for soothing massages and hot tub dips before feasting on Michelin-starred fare or meeting fellow partygoers at top après-ski bars.
The Best Places to Stay in Les Deux Alpes
For Families or Groups
- Chamois Lodge is a lively, affordable hotel with simple, modern interiors — think cosy beds topped with crisp white sheets in rooms with pine panelling — as well as a buzzy all-day cocktail bar, bistro and small spa. Quadruple rooms with mezzanine levels are ideal for families or groups of friends. Great fun.
For Foodies
- Chalet Mounier is an elegant 43-room, family-owned traditional Alpine chalet. Enjoy indoor and outdoor pools, a sun terrace, a full spa and hot tubs after big days out. Beautiful views of the Écrins National Park and two ski lifts just 150 metres away add to the appeal. But the big draw is undoubtedly the marvellous Michelin-starred restaurant. Savour Le P'tit Polyte's creative cuisine by sampling their 'Origine' or 'Inspiration' tasting menus — both are superb.
