MY HOTEL BUGBEARS…
….Waiters who describe the food on one’s plate by sticking out their index finger or, worse still, their pinky and waving it centimetres above the food? “Here you have sea bass” says the waiter, pointing with his finger, “girolles” (point), “potato gnocchi” (point). Yes, I can see, I want to cry, I’m not a complete idiot; please take your hand away. But of course I don’t; I just smile politely and say, "Oh, how lovely".
