Iberá National Park is the largest nature reserve in Argentina and sits on the banks of Lake Iberá. The park is home to a number of protected species including the otter, the maned wolf, the Pampas and the marsh deer. In addition to this, over 350 types of birds frequent the grounds, making it a haven for birdwatchers. Aguapé Lodge sits within the grounds of the national park and has privileged access to the wetlands and the lake. The lodge has 12 rooms spread across the main inn and a smaller house; guestrooms are simple but inviting, with cosy rugs and plush throws in the local style. The hotel can accommodate families and offers extra beds for children. The outings are really the highlight at this lodge; you can book a range of activities to explore the national park, from canoeing on the lake to horseback riding and trekking. There are nice spaces to unwind after excursions, with two separate living spaces (one for each house) and a pretty sit-out terrace; a great holiday for nature-lovers.
