“Well designed and up to the minute business hotel in the heart of the City, a railway hotel conversion oozing style.”

Hotel review

Another railway hotel conversion I hear you cry, and part of a chain to boot!....However this one is excellent! Original exterior and interior features are complemented by ultra modern touches and artworks. There is no reception as such when you walk into the lobby (actually here they call it the Andaz Lounge), instead you'll find friendly staff waiting by a central station to check you in (or you can do it yourself online). In addition you'll find a trendy space where you can help yourself to complimentary soft drinks, teas, coffees and biscuits; plus pop down between 5.30 and 8pm and you'll be treated to wine and canapes — on the house. These little extras continue in your room where mini bars are free (except for alcoholic drinks) and you can make local landline calls also without charge. Rooms are spacious with super comfy beds and muted colours. Book one of the “rooms with a view” — they have feature walls created by an up-and-coming local artist, reflecting their personal take on the East End. Dining comes in various forms from fine dining, to Japanese or British gastropub. Plus there's Rake's Café Bar where a resident DJ presides Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Location wise the Andaz Liverpool Street is ideal; bang next door to Liverpool Street Station which is handy for the City, West End and travel further afield. Staff are courteous and friendly. All in all, it's a sleek operation and a great base for a visit to London whether for business or leisure.
